More than just a teaching tool
Learning isn't just about topping up a students head with information, it's about the development of a students capability to question, it's about inquisitiveness and it's about problem solving.
Through structured activities the Adland Learning Guides help stimulate and promote a students learning. The activities lead the learners through a process of discovery while still following the direction of their supervisors and trainers.
If you are new to the Adland Learning Guides then log onto our learning guide page and have a look at the titles. We also have samples for you to printout.
Don't forget to get in early and order soon, before the 2015 programs start.
Use them to plan your delivery
An early start to the year ensures your instructors have plenty of time to plan their program delivery around the learning guide structure helping them provide a well planned and stimulating student experience.
Our authors and instructional designers have developed the learning guides around a tried and tested learning structure for each of the titles.

Second semester is upon us and ADLAND is working with you and your students to learn their craft and build their competence.
The challenge for teachers and assessors is to collect sufficient evidence of skills development of the learner to contribute to the sufficiency requirement of assessment. Adland learning guides go a long way to achieve this through the tasks and activities designed specifically for the learner. Usually referred to as formative assessment, the Adland learning guide activities, when recorded as the learners progress, contribute to the validity of this assessment.
Fair Assessment = Formative + Summative
Summative assessments such as theory or practical tests reserved for the end of a teaching and learning program, are not necessarily a fair form of assessment. Individual learners deal differently with summative assessments and may not perform well when faced with a “final test or exam”. Formative assessments illustrate a person’s competence by demonstrating understanding and skills development, in a real or simulated environment, over time and not simply a snapshot at a point in time.
Using the ADLAND Learning Guides to support Assessment
The Adland learning guides enable the learners to perform activities as they learn,. This provides the teachers and trainers evidence of learner skills progress.
When deficiencies are identified in the formative assessment work, the teacher has the opportunity to modify their teaching strategy to assist the learner on the go. It’s all too late at the end of the program!
The Adland learning guides are more than just a learning resource. When used as part of the overall teaching and assessment strategy they provide a valuable source of evidence for assessment.

Welcome to Adland Learning Guides.
This month sees Adland building a better learning platform for teachers and students.
More interactive content linked to our learning guides through QR Codes ensures you can build skills by watching instead of just reading.
The videos work just as well on your mobile devices. So if you are away from the computer in the work shed or out in the field all you need to do is scan the QR code with your smart phone or tablet and watch the video.
If you need to leave the learner guide in the office or classroom just scan the URL before you leave and save it on the phone.
